By using ChessCopilot (“the app”) you agree to these terms.
The service
ChessCopilot lets you scan chess positions and score sheets with your camera, analyse them with a chess engine, and save/export your games. Recognition is powered by AI and is not guaranteed to be 100% accurate — always review the recognised board/moves before relying on them.
Fair use
Do not use the app to cheat in a live, rated, or otherwise competitive game where outside assistance is prohibited (e.g. FIDE/USCF events). ChessCopilot is for learning, analysis, and recording your own games. You are responsible for following the rules of any event you play in.
Subscriptions
ChessCopilot offers auto-renewing subscriptions, each with a clearly stated daily scan allowance — Casual (20 scans/day), Pro (50 scans/day) and Pro Yearly (50 scans/day), at the prices shown in the app (currently US$4.99/month, US$9.99/month and US$49.99/year; prices and availability vary by region). An optional free trial applies where offered.
- Payment is charged to your Apple account at confirmation of purchase.
- The subscription auto-renews at the stated price unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the current period ends.
- Manage or cancel anytime in your App Store account settings. A free trial’s unused portion is forfeited when you buy a subscription.
- Refunds are handled solely by Apple under Apple’s policies; we cannot issue refunds directly.
Acceptable use
Don’t misuse the app, attempt to break or overload it, or use it unlawfully.
Disclaimer
The app is provided “as is”, without warranties. To the extent permitted by law, ChessCopilot is not liable for any indirect or consequential damages arising from use of the app, including inaccurate recognition or analysis.
Apple App Store
Because you obtained ChessCopilot from Apple’s App Store, the following also applies:
- These terms are between you and ChessCopilot only, not Apple. Apple is not responsible for the app or its content.
- Apple has no obligation to provide maintenance or support for the app.
- If the app fails to conform to any applicable warranty, you may notify Apple and Apple may refund the purchase price (if any); to the maximum extent permitted by law, Apple has no other warranty obligation, and any other claims attributable to a failed warranty are our responsibility, not Apple’s.
- We (not Apple) are responsible for any claims relating to the app — including product-liability claims, claims that it fails a legal/regulatory requirement, claims under consumer-protection or privacy law, and any third-party claim that the app infringes intellectual-property rights.
- You confirm you are not in a country subject to a U.S. Government embargo or designated “terrorist-supporting”, and are not on any U.S. Government prohibited/restricted-party list.
- Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these terms and may enforce them against you.
Changes
We may update the app and these terms. Continued use after changes means you accept them.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of Vietnam.
